Marapana Wildlife World is located 40 minutes out of Perth. The word
Marapana means “animal grazing” and this concept helped design the zoo
to allow the visitors to get up close and personal with the animals here
by feeding and patting them. Marapana Wildlife World was originally a
drive through deer park, but now has metamorphosed into a walk-through
wildlife park.
The Park holds 15 acre of land devoted to Australian natives the
kangaroos, koalas, wombats, emus and kookaburras. The exotic animals
include deer, ostrich, alpacas, camels, water buffalo, peacocks,
pheasants and various farm animals. Visitors can touch and feed
kangaroos and deer as they roam freely around you. A “Pat and Chat”
session is held everyday from 11:30 am to 2:20 pm, so the visitors can
get acquainted with the wombats, dingoes, snakes and koalas.
The park has a petting zoo for children where they can pet and feed
animals. The “Koala Experience” at parks encourages visitors to go and
meet the koalas and learn about them from their Koala colony. You can
click snaps of feeding and hugging a bear.
Refreshments are available at the Koala Café. The whole green park is
blotched with picnic tables; gas or wood barbecues and has seating
arrangements for picnic facilities. You can collect souvenir from the
gift shop and gather data about animals from information centre and
there is also an “animal free” covered gazebo.
Marapana Wildlife World have started catering “Totally Wild” children’s
Birthday Party, it organizes group tours and Christmas parties or work
functions in a niche style. It allows school excursions and caters to
special needs with complete responsibility.
